Cheshire Cheese Entry

How many of us are aware of ‘Cheshire Cheese Entry?  I also wonder how it got its name?  The narrow alley way is situated adjacent to the Postal Order Pub on Foregate Street, Worcester.  Although only a few yards long it is a valuable link from Foregate Street to the surrounding roads, and Friar Street behind it. If you’ve parked up in the Cattle-Market, as I often do,  then it’s a very good short cut.   Bear in mind though that there is no sign at the Foregate Street end,  so make sure you don’t miss it as you can easily walk by without even noticing it’s there.
