I was delighted to be introduced to the March Hare at Broughton Hackett recently. It is an inviting black and white country pub on the main road approaching Upton Snodsbury. (A422) Not only does it provide a warm and friendly welcome, but good beer too. The food is superb with a very varied menu to suit all tastes. Being of ravenous appetite my party opted for the Carvery, (at a modest £6.95) so forgoing starters. The Carvery, supervised by efficient chefs was well stocked with 3 different kinds of tempting meats. A sumptuous array of vegetables, all deliciously appetising greeted us. I’m quite critical when it comes to cuisine and I know how I like vegetables to be presented. Believe me, I wasn’t disappointed. With a couple of glasses of wine and a huge plate of good honest mouth-watering roast, I was truly in heaven. Sadly, couldn’t tackle desserts, although they looked inviting. It really is worth a visit, however, I recommend you book as it is a very popular local eatery.
