The Surrounding Area

Up Hill and Down Dale...

Whilst I wouldn't want to encourage you to come to anywhere other than Worcester I would be doing myself an injustice if I didn't give you some details about the surrounding area.

Worcester has the unique advantage of being located centrally, it is a major rail junction and it is on the M5 motorway. At the same time it has the advantage of being nestled in some of England's most beautiful countryside

Malvern

Malvern is a Victorian Spa town located about 9 miles from Worcester. It is home to Morgan Motors and Malvern Spring Water. As well as being situated on the side of the Malvern Hills (A spectacular ridge of hills running north to south for about 10 miles and at the highest point (Worcestershire Beacon) towering over 424 Metres (1394 feet). This will ensure one of the best views in England. If walking is not your thing, take a visit to the winter gardens where you will be able to take in a show at one of the nations key theatres outside of the West End. Malvern is a beautifully kept town with fantastic charm and some stunning architecture.

Birmingham

The nations 2nd Capital is only 45 minutes away, if you stay in Worcester that is! Birmingham has a lot to offer from Centenary Square, to the newly developed, highly modern Bull Ring shopping centre, to the Cadbury Factory (Cadbury's World). Once you've finished shopping a great night out can be had on Broad Street.

Stratford Upon Avon

Birthplace of Shakespeare, this beautiful Warwickshire town sells itself. The town retains it's Elizabethan charm... and who can resist a trip down the Avon on a hired boat!

Warwick

A stunning medieval town, with the fantastic castle as the main attraction. Run by the company responsible for Madame Tussaud's in London and Alton Towers, the castle has many exciting events and entertainment including a mediaeval market during the summer months.

Other Places

Aside to these few places Worcester is surrounded by some fabulous countryside for walking, enjoying the quiet life and sampling real ales at some traditional english country pubs. Other places such as Hereford, Tewkesbury, Evesham, Ledbury, Pershore are all worth a visit with their old market centre's. As is Upton upon Severn with its Jazz Festival and riverside pubs.

Further afield you have Alton Towers theme park in Staffordshire, one of the best in Europe, Drayton Manor Park and Zoo and the West Midlands Safari park (just up the road in Kidderminster). Even Oxford is only a little over an hour away... so what are you waiting for!
